Not more than two persons have been killed in after a fuel tanker truck exploded at Barack gate bus-stop, along Lagos-Badagry express way today.
The tanker which was loaded with 33,000 liters of fuel skidded off the road and spilled its contents, caught fire and affected another truck conveying a 40ft container fully loaded with generator, and two other vehicles, TVC News gathered.
The incident occurred around 5 am on Wednesday, January 30. It was also gathered that two trucks and three cars were completely burnt.
The Lagos state fire service was on ground to quell the fire on the affected areas to and stopped it from spreading.
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Emeka Oti, said that the two deceased persons were among the three occupants of a vehicle used for smuggling. The third person in the car suffered serious fire injuries, he said.
He added that efforts to restore normalcy to the area is ongoing.
