#NigeriaDecides2019 The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has just announced the postponement of the Presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled for Saturday 16th February to 23rd February 2019, also postponing the governorship election covered for 2nd March 2019, to 9th March, 2019.
The commission met on Friday, February 15th, and reviewed it preparations for the 2019 general elections set to take today Saturday, 16th February and Saturday, 2nd March 2019.
While briefing the Press on #NigeriaDecides2019, INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, announces new dates for the general election. According to him, election now holds on February 23rd 2019 for Presidential and National Assembly while the Governorship, State House of Assembly and the FCT Area Council Elections is to hold on March 9th 2019.
INEC chairman, blaming the postponement on logistics also announced that a stakeholder meeting will hold at 2pm in Abuja today, Saturday.
