The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has just suspended its three-month old strike, and asked lecturers to resume work with an immediate effect.
The National President of the union, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, announced this on Thursday February 7th during a press briefing at the Nigeria Labour Congress complex in Abuja.
The leadership of the academic union have been asked to resume on Friday February 8th.
The striking lecturers took the decision after a meeting with representatives of the Federal Government led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige.
ASUU began the just suspended strike in November 2018.
