'We are ware of the pain,' PDP sympathises with Ndigbo over postponed elections

Welcome To DafyWorld

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), of the Southeast zone, yesterday said that it sympathised with the people of South East who had travelled from far to participate in the election before it was postponed

In Owerri, the Acting Publicity Secretary of PDP, Chijioke Ekwegh claimed in a statement to newsmen that the postponement of the February 16th Presidential and national assembly elections caused huge financial loss to the people of the zone.

Vanguard gathered that Ekwegh had described the sudden development as shifting of doomsday for the APC, accusing INEC of colluding with APC to rig the 2019 elections. "Hunger among other economic challenges would be one of the reasons for which APC should be voted out of power," he also said.

The party stated: “We sympathise with our brothers and sisters who travelled home from far for the sake of electing a quality president and   national assembly members of their choice. The inconveniences and financial loss caused by this postponement cannot be compared to the gains of a responsible PDP-led federal government from May 29,2019.

“We are aware of the sufferings, pains, loss of jobs, killings and nepotism the Nigerian people have endured since the inception of this out-going government. “The last minute postponement of the presidential and national assembly polls by INEC is an indication that the APC led federal government has failed woefully.

“It is an indication that the electoral umpire is under pressure and doing the bidding of the APC just to rig the elections in favour of the unpopular President Muhammadu Buhari.

“From East to West and even in the North, PDP  and our articulate presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar are popular and very much accepted.”
