Former Super Eagle striker, Nigeria under-17 and Under-20 captain, Isaac Promise has died at the age of 31.
Isaac died in Austin Texas in the United states where he played for a lower division club – Austin Bold. The club announced his death but did not explain the cause.
A message from Austin Bold FC, Chairman Bobby Epstein on Twitter reads:
Isaac won silver with Nigeria’s flying eagles at the FIFA Under-20 World cup in 2005 and earn three Super Eagles caps in 2009. He played most of his club career in Turkey before moving to the United states.
The Nigeria football federation has since sent their condolence to the player’s family and friends.
