Atleast Seven Killed, 5 Others Injured As 5.7 earthquake Hit Southern Turkey

At least seven persons have died and five others injured after a magnitude-5.7 earthquake struck southern Turkey, near the border of Iran in the early hours of Sunday.

According to News reports,' more than one thousand buildings had collapsed after shallow tremor, leaving many still trapped under the rubble.

The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre says the quake, which had been felt in Iran, had a depth of five km.

Crisscrossed by major fault lines, Iran and Turkey are among the most earthquake-prone countries in the world.
