Supreme Court Cancels APC Application, Declares Matawalle As Winner

The Supreme Court has cancelled the application of the All Progressives Congress in their quest to review the judgement on Zamfara governorship election. The court pointed out such action was an abuse of court and offensive. However, the court, awarded the sum of N2 million cost against the APC to be paid to the respondent .

Reports show that the victory of the APC in the Zamfara governorship was nullified, national and state assemblies elections for not conducting a valid primary. It ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to issue the certificate of return to the candidate of the political party with the next highest vote in the election . But, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Muhammad Matawalle, was finally sworn in as governor.
