Ogun State: 35-Year-Old Man Takes Own Life After Assaulting Roommate

Emmanuel Urhobocha, a 35-year-old man, is suspected to have taken his own life in his apartment on Alafia Street, Sango-Ota, located in the Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.

According to the Ogun State Police Command, the incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, and was reported on Saturday, August 31.

The command’s spokesperson, Odutola Omolola, said Urhobocha's roommate, identified as Obabiyi David, had visited the Sango-Ota Police Division to report that his flatmate was acting strange and even attacked him with a knife.

David sustained injuries in the knife attack.

Policemen were dispatched to Urhobocha's house but when they got there, they found the room locked from inside.

They forced the door open to find the suspect lying face down.

Odutola said, “He was discovered dead in the apartment, with a container of insecticide found next to his body.

“He was promptly transported to a local hospital for medical attention, but the attending doctor confirmed him dead. His body has been placed in the morgue for an autopsy, and the incident remains under investigation.”
