Comedian Michael Blackson Accuses Ghanaian Government Of Diverting $1 Million School Investment

Ghanaian-American comedian Michael Blackson has publicly voiced his frustration after suffering a significant financial setback related to his charitable efforts in Ghana. 

Through a series of social media posts, Blackson claimed that the Ghanaian government misused $1 million he had invested in a free school project, diverting the funds to address national debts, including payments to other countries such as China. This unexpected turn of events has left Blackson, along with other investors, in a difficult position.

Known for his philanthropic work and dedication to helping underprivileged children, Blackson expressed his deep disappointment in the government’s actions. “Ghana stole the money I invested to keep my free school going so now I might have to do a GoFundMe,” he tweeted, adding, “They set me back financially and I’ll never forgive them for this."

Blackson also criticized the country’s financial leadership, particularly questioning the role of the finance minister. Despite this major setback, the comedian reiterated his commitment to supporting the youth of Ghana, expressing that his passion for helping underprivileged children is what motivates him to keep moving forward.

"If it wasn’t for the love and passion I have for the unprivileged youth of Ghana I would just hand my school to the people and walk away, but I can’t. I’ll have to work a little longer than I expected to help those kids out," Blackson concluded.
