In an interview with The Indian Express, Gates shared his perspective on Artificial Intelligence and the professions he believes are unlikely to be replaced by this powerful technology.
According to a report by Marca, Gates identified three careers that he sees as safe from AI disruption: biologists, energy experts, and programmers.
He explained that biologists are at the forefront of human progress, relying heavily on creativity and intuition, as qualities that AI still struggles to replicate. While AI can assist in data analysis and information processing, it lacks the cognitive flexibility to form hypotheses or make intuitive leaps, which are often the driving forces behind groundbreaking discoveries.
Similarly, energy experts and programmers benefit from uniquely human skills. Despite AI's strength in managing data and performing complex tasks, it doesn’t yet match the human ability to design sophisticated software or respond dynamically to global energy challenges, especially in a rapidly changing world.
Gates has consistently addressed the role of AI in society, offering insights into how it may shape our future. In a conversation with Jimmy Fallon, he added that athletes are also among the few professionals whose jobs are likely safe from automation.
AI is a powerful tool, but for now, it complements rather than replaces these roles, especially when creativity, intuition, and ethics are involved, Dafy World learnt.
