In an unexpected turn of events at an FCMB bank branch located in the Secretariat area, a bizarre security breach attempt unfolded that has left staff and customers stunned.
According to eyewitness accounts, a man entered the bank premises on a regular business day, heading directly to the toilet. Once inside, he reportedly locked the door and managed to climb up into the ceiling, where he hid until the close of business.
As night fell and all staff had vacated the premises, the suspect descended and attempted to breach the bank's internal systems.
Sources say he locked himself inside the office area and tried hacking the systems — a move that was only discovered the following morning.
Upon arrival the next day, staff noticed the office door was locked from the inside. Alarmed, they forcefully broke in and discovered evidence of tampering. What shocked them even more was finding the suspect still in there till morning, hiding right above the ceiling.
It wasn’t until the system was rebooted that signs of the intrusion became evident. “Restarting, click ok to accept,” appeared on the bank’s interface — a suspicious indicator that someone had attempted unauthorized access.
The suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue.
