The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed a three-count charge against Ezekiel Onyedikachuwu Thankgod, popularly known as EeZee Tee, for allegedly stealing $443,371 belonging to gospel singers Mercy Chinwo and Judith Kanayo (Judikay).
EeZee Tee, the founder of EeZee Global Concepts and former manager of the artists, is being prosecuted alongside his company before the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos.
The funds, allegedly misappropriated in 2023, include sums of $112,985, $260,494, and $69,892. The EFCC claims he dishonestly converted these funds for personal use, violating Sections 280(1)(a) and 287 of the Lagos State Criminal Law.
Meanwhile, Coach Nancy Nnadi, the Managing Director of EeZee Conceptz, has issued a public retraction of her defamatory social media claims against Mercy Chinwo, following a defamation suit filed by Chinwo’s legal team. Nancy had earlier accused the singer of financial misconduct, which she has now withdrawn and apologized for publicly.
The date for EeZee Tee’s court arraignment is yet to be announced.
