The thrilling final took place on July 26, 2025, at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, with fans treated to a match filled with passion, resilience, and late drama.

The Atlas Lionesses started with incredible energy, scoring twice in the opening 25 minutes:

Ghizlane Chebbak opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a powerful strike that sent Moroccan fans into a frenzy.

Sanaâ Mssoudy doubled the lead in the 24th minute, punishing Nigeria’s sluggish defense and putting Morocco in firm control.

Nigeria looked shaken and struggled to create clear chances before halftime.

The second half was a different story. Coach Randy Waldrum’s tactical adjustments saw Nigeria pressing higher and dominating midfield battles.

In the 64th minute, Esther Okoronkwo converted a penalty, sparking hope for the Super Falcons.

Just seven minutes later, Folashade Ijamilusi equalized with a superb finish after a brilliant assist from Okoronkwo.

With the clock ticking, Jennifer Echegini sealed Nigeria’s triumph in the 88th minute, completing one of the greatest comebacks in WAFCON history.
