Leaving Neverland: National Football Museum takes down Michael Jackson statue from display amid sexual abuse allegations, banned by radio stations
The National Football Museum has taken down the statue of Michael Jackson which used to stand outside Fulham Football Club amid allegations of child sexual abuse against the late singer in the bombshell documentary, Leaving Neverland.
According to the spokesperson for the museum, they were planning to take down the seven and a half foot monument to the 'King of Pop' anyway as part of a reorganization of their exhibits.
The spokesperson said to newsmen: 'Plans have been underway for a number of months to remove the Michael Jackson statue from display as part of our ongoing plans to better represent the stories we want to tell about football. As a result of this, the statue has now been removed.'
Also, radio stations across the world have begun taking Michael Jackson off their playlists following fresh allegations of sex abuse against the singer.
His songs have been pulled from Australian radio network Smooth FM following the first part of documentary Leaving Neverland on Thursday night, reports.
Other stations who have also reportedly banned Jackson's hits, including three in Canada, one in Netherlands and New Zealand's public broadcaster RNZ
Jackson's statue was built outside Craven Cottage by Fulham's former owner, Mohamed Al Fayed, after Jackson's death aged 50 in 2009.
